How can the church respond to the needs of older people?

2nd May 2012 9.30 AM – 4 PM @ Queen Street

This day is open to all associated with the North Yorkshire Coast Circuit who have an interest in pastoral care.
• This is a day of shared learning for lay and ordained people with an interest in responding to the needs of the aging population in general.
• Local demographics for the North Yorkshire Circuit suggest a doubling of the over 80’s age group in the next 10 years. This, along with more tenuous family networks will involve increasing calls for support from the church in collaboration with Voluntary and Statutory services.
• People engaged in this work also need support.
• People are interested in finding out where such support is available and how to access it.
• This day will provide a valuable signposting resource, which will be available afterwards on the circuit website
• There is no cost associated with this day; all speakers have generously given their time. Tea and coffee will be available, please bring your own lunch. Lunchtime can be an opportunity to talk to and learn from each other what challenges are being faced across the new circuit.
• The sessions will be presented by the speakers, there will be the opportunity to ask questions and some interaction will be expected. Continue reading
